· Lee Young & Partners was founded in 1969 by Dr. Selwyn lee Young. He was at this time actively engaged in engineering works, as Port Engineer of the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago.
· The name of the firm was, at that time, Lee Young, Wallace Evans & Partners. Wallace Evans & Partners is a well known British firm of Consulting Engineers founded in 1932 by the late Mr. Wallace Evans.
· In 1971, The Name was then changed to Lee Young & Partners reflecting changes in ownership and control of the firm. We have continued ties with Wallace Evans & Partners, which has since merged with Hyder Consulting limited.
The firm has grown steadily over the years in the fields of project management, civil, geotechnical, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering. In the Caribbean area, the firm has associated offices in Barbados, St.Lucia and Dominica, which provide Clients on these islands with immediate presence. Because of its team approach on engineering projects where individual skills, experience and knowledge are pooled together, the firm is able to provide Clients with solutions which are consistent with the technological, economic and aesthetic requirements of both the Client and the community. Each assignment is directly controlled by a partner or associate who can call upon the necessary inter-disciplinary skills of other members in the firm. The Partner/Associate exercises technical and administrative control of the staff and the work being performed, including the necessary liaison with the Client. He is also fully authorized to represent the firm and commit all the required resources on matters relating to the project. In order to ensure personal attention to a Client's interest, the scope and number of projects undertaken at any one time are carefully assessed and restricted as necessary. The senior partners are Chartered Engineers, Fellows of the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago and registered with the Board of Engineering. Some of the Engineers also belong to the Institution of Civil Engineers, United Kingdom. |
